I heard a rumour or two the weekend before we fished it Si, plus a supposed EA recommendation that the pools were too heavily stocked which culimanted in some 'thining out'........

But there again, sometimes the rumour mill is miles off the mark, although the weights I've seen recoreded and posted on various forums seem to suggest it isnt the 'ton up' venue it was renowned as being

I think things are coming home to roost for all the 'Ton up merchants' Simps

Now 50lb winning weights are dismissed..........and just think of the gnashing of teeth when there's only silvers to go after ;)

We might start seeing some more 'proper' tackle in the shops in the next year or two :P

The bottom pool was won with 101lb they didnt start till about a good 1 1/2 hours after us and fished for six hours.Had mine on 2/3 casters down the side 14 hook. Some right lumps where caught.R/H side of the pool was favourite,1st peg in the narrow bit won it again 4/5 mrt out and down the side.

That certainly sounds like a couple of positive reports from Frank and Harry the Hit Man............... Image

All would appear aok and perhaps the rumour mongers are putting it about because it's fished 'difficult' for them Image

Wasn't the peg ridgeacre on about the 1 you were on Image. Just joking it was very hard that day had 6 bites and 5 fish but that was in deep winter after loads of rain. Spoke to Tink this morning he said he is going to give them a ring to see whats going on. Image

Yes but I bet he didn't have to use a stick float to contend with the amount of water coming in from the top pool(swallow) ;)

Actually he was on about the bottom pool. We fished the top pool mate when I went home early. And it was 1 peg away from where I had 134lb from. Just a different day Image

Them pool take on some serious water when we have some rain.
The roads were flooded on the day I went home too. Red clay water everywhere.
