[quote]I still like the Loughborough mate and i hope you don't think i was criticising. I was just using it as an example of roach behaviour and trying to get my head around why they choose to be in certain areas at different times of the year etc. Perhaps i'm sad but it fascinates me!
no mate
i don't know if you noticed but the scrapeyard and some of the little moor section has some sort of blanket weed on the bottom and when a boat goes over the top it comes to the top before settling again weather this has anything to do with it mate
There was no lost chub in my peg matey i think there was only 1 in the peg yesterday but there seemed to b plenty of roach in that pound mate and odd skimmer russ dowing had two and some small pomeys hope im that section again this week
thats about right mate
was it windy did you notice any wind mark
it was blowing a gala where i was
bucko i'd like to see you on 7 or 8 at the swingbridge you might brake into a simile after the match
the grim reaper didn't have anything to simile about this week carbon everywhere i've done it myself sat on my topkits
I've had to turn the volume down on me laptop, the missus can't here telly for Bucko moaning
Top bloke Bucko hope you draw swingbridge this week, both matches his predictions of what i would catch have been bang on
any peg on swingbridge would do. you never know?i dont like to moan but it would make a nice change to park me car there instead of dropping d guest there every week
toone ears are still ringing after drawing next to GOBfrey. .i dont know whats worse the factory wall or drawing next to GOBfrey .no wounder his poles in a thousand pieces
we have never had this problem before mate and it makes feeding difficult with the boats another problem the loughborough has never seen at this time of year
still your lads have it sorted along with lloydys boys
Yes there was some strange weed on the bottom Joff. Like dead grass which made laying on difficult. Unusual to get that at this time of year.
This was a problem on many canals years ago at this time of the year. It is some sort of chemical reaction and occasionally bits of weed do come to the surface. It tends to only appear when you have a mild spell following a long spell of frosts; condition that we just haven't had on cuts for many years now. It should go away of it's own accord. Sometimes the bottom will send up a few bubbles as well.
Sometimes I have a similar problem with my bottom but you don't want to know about that
cheers joff. i notice same problems happening again with the roach moving off match length. same problem on most clear canals. same thing happens up hear on canal at blackburn. light fades then fish move up length or switch on. was the boat traffic about what you would expect on sunday. they seemed to be on a mission to go over every line i'd fed
