Just to avoid some confusion on Sat

Some will be aware, others not, but I always intended to have sections rather than a straight 1,2 & 3 on the KP this year as it's hardly a ‘fair’ match venue.

The intention is give the guys in 'less favourable' areas a bit more of an incentive to ‘get their heads down’ and to stimulate a bit of enthusiasm amongst iffy pegs.

The number of sections and no of anglers within each section will be dependent on the total no of anglers.

I’ve had a think about it and this is what I have come up with – I think its about as fair as you can get………….but I dare say someone somewhere may have an alternative view.

It’s based on the number fishing the KP and runs through from 12 to 22

12 = 3 x 4 viz 1-4, 5/7/10/11 12-16 excl 13
13 = 1 x 5 & 2 x 4 viz 1-5, 6/7/10/11 12-16 excl 13
14 = 2 x 5 & 1 x 4 viz 1-5, 6-10, 11-15 excl 13
15 = 3 x 5 viz 1-5, 6-10, 11-16 excl 13
16 = 4 x 4 viz 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16
17 = 3 x 4 & 1 x 5 viz 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-17
18 = 3 x 6 viz 1-6, 7-12, 13-18
19 = 3 x 5 & 1 x 4 viz 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-19
20 = 4 x 5 viz 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20
21 = 3 x 5 & 1 x 6 viz 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-21
22 = 2 x 5 & 2 x 6 viz 1-5, 6-10, 11-16, 17-22

So this is what I will run with on the gruellers on the KP this series.

Just posting this now so the tom toms can hopefully beat and that anyone who vehemently disagrees with what I am doing and thus doesn’t want to fish for section money only has a few days notice.

PS at the mo there is 18 booked in for sat with a further possible 2 more on board (or not)

Something similar will apply to the Inlet and Outlet, still to be finalised.

PB, due to his impaired vision, will if he wishes, be exempt from pegs 17 onwards and can have a dip in the bag for pegs 1-16 which are a tad more easier to get in/set up in

Why

- it's still a fiver - at most there's only 4 sections - dependent on turnout there's 5 chances it will be 3 sections, or 6 possibilities it will be 4 sections

Eg if 18 fish

18 = 3 x 6 viz 1-6, 7-12, 13-18
means
18 = 3 sections of 6 pegs - the sections comprising of pegs 1-6, 7-12 and 13-18

or
17 = 3 x 4 & 1 x 5 viz 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-17
means
17 = 3 sections of 4 & 1 section of 5 viz pegs 1-4, 5-8, 9-12 and 13-17

Got me thinking now.........we could have seedings for the sections

Pegs 1,2,3,11 & 15 in one section (the cock pegs)
Pegs 4,5,12,14 & 16 in another
Pegs 6,7,8,9 &10 and
Pegs 13 and 17 onwards in another........

The mind boggles

agree with seeded pegs idea, as for example id always fancy peg 11 to anilhate peg 13. Think that is a good idea and do agree with ur seedings.

Not always tho Yamo..........peg 13 has come up trumps a couple of times

A problem with a seeding of pegs concept is the no of anglers that turn up

Lets say 20 pegs on a venue and you ‘manage to agree’ that it is logical to have 4 sections and the 5 pegs that fall into
Section A – 5 Seed 1 pegs (best)
Section B – 5 Seed 2 pegs
Section C – 5 Seed 3 pegs
Section D – 5 Seed 4 pegs (poorest)

16 turn up to fish

Do you have 3 sections of 5 (in the 3 sections considered the best) and 1 poor soul left on their own in the poorest section (D).
Or 4 sections of 4, meaning you drop one best peg out of section A, another from B etc so at the expense of putting 3 poorest pegs in section D?

As I see it you’d have to seed every peg individually through from 1 to 20 eg

I wondered why you had to have a 3 x fag 10 minute break at work on Wednesday. Now I see why

You were trying to clear your head from all the numbers to do some proper work

I only wish I could be there to fish it as I think it will take you an hour to explain the permutations to anyone who does not have access to the forum.

I've got all the data off the start of the topic on a laminated card.....

When I know how many are there - scheduled for 18 at the mo, I'll state what the sections are..........if people don't open their lug holes tough ****

and I'll pay out the fixed section payouts I've also calculated (dependent on whether 4, 5 or 6 in a section) to those winners of the respective sections

That's the plan

At least I know what's going on - even if I've confused HaHa whose gone off to the bank for a loan to fish Sat's match
