Bloody hell it seems like ages before we get started. 15th April, Rolling mill Street. But its on the wharfe. Not fished it ::)
Been reading your reports Conna for a insite of what to expect
Casters will be high on my bait list. Might try some small corn for those tench and some liquidized corn too. You never know
Looking forward to it now though. Need to get all this work finished off too
The Wharfe has been cleaned out now and all that Green weed has been got rid ov from off the top. Your bait bill should consist of Caster, worm, punch and Red maggot for the hook only. It's a cracking venue is the Wharfe and I'm really looking forward to it. Keep it simple simple
Yes mate, It will probably be at the cafe, not Jeans but the Lunchbox, but you'll know long before the day. The draw is always 8.30 unless otherwise stated.
I went down Owen Rd this morn for a few hours, only took Punch and a tin of Corn and wasn't expectin to catch anythin. 2nd fish was a tench of abour 2lbs, 3rd fish was a bream about 1.5 lbs and then mainly small Roach from 1oz to 3oz and a bit a chuck, after getting fed up of catching the little Roach I decided to set up a Corn rig, then a bloke came along just as I put in who was a fisherman and assured me it was too early for the Corn to go, just then the float went under and a 12oz Roach went in the net and then another. Right sed the bloke, I'll leave you to it lol. Anyway 10 mins later I got stuck on a snag and broke the 3rd section clean in half (not my new pole thank god) so I decided to call it a day with approx 6lbs in the net after 3 hours.
Well done dude. I always have some corn in my bag just in case. I was gonna just go with punch and caster anyway.
Just hope it don't rain between now and the match, I think we will all catch well if it doesn't.
Gav said he was coming the other day too
Good job your getting a new pole when you keep braking your current one
Just tried but he didn't answer. Must be getting some beauty sleep. So he might wake up in about 5 years
Gotta go down the shop. I will ask him then for ya mate.
I cadged enuff bait this afternoon (and saved my punch crumb) with the intention of coming along with you.
However being as I'm still not sure that visitors are allowed I'll probably either pop down as a nuisance bank walker or toddle off to Curborough and watch the Chockie Monster (and pick me jumper up in the process)
