I drew peg 5 at swingbridge on 1 practice and finished 2nd with big roach Image Imagedrew it again a couple of years later on fur and feather, you wouldn't have thought there was a roach in the canal Image Image

jOFF, it was the last time I ever spoke or saw Ivan on the morning of the match, he helped us out on a few things( not that it did us any gud ) :( But he held back on telling us about going for bonus perch on caster in the harder sections ;)

FINAL ROUND RESULTS
with both leicester and trentmen already qualified for the semi the pressure was off yet there was the normal banter and rivalry between us and what a match we all had the river had a little colour a little extra pace it was freezing cold with a chill factor of -3. the sections we had chosen suited the condittions more sections on the slower river and boy did the roach feed  ::) ::)a part from one section mine the one section we had left on the deep Image Imageand when you draw a section with tooney in it [mr grumpy no mr crappity smacking grumpy] steve woolhard and richie hall you know its going to be crap Image Image Imagesteve woolhard was on side and richie on the other  :-/ :-/ still after a hour i had three roach for a pound on the feeder casting down my peg on double yes double caster it's the best bait for the big roach on the deeps .it must be that they can see it better  ;)as the match went on tooney walked up the bank like the grim reaper the only thing words to come out of his mouth that i understood was crappity smack me double caster  :o and off he went
next thing you hear is tooneys had a 3lb bream and 5 roach yes you guest it double caster we nearly got a smile out of him at the end Imagesteve woolhard fished a positive match as he was on the bream peg that had thrown up last week and after the walk we had that was the only method a out of breath steve was going to set up.steve end up with 4 bream for just over 3kg but had to wait until the last hour for them, fair play to steve as he only had one small skimmer untill then.i had managed 2kg800g with a late run of caster roach on the pole laying on 2 feet :o :owhy two foot i can't answer that but anything less never looked like going under.i ended up second to steve
right the rest of the river fished its head off :o :othe green 9lb was last in the 9 pegs :o :osutton 6 to 7 lb were only worth the same in points :ochub again dominated the osiers and brinks sections :o :o what a river its i just hope we can keep hold of the sections we have  Image Image
